Baby Glen: 35 weeks

Eeek only 2 weeks until Baby G is considered to be fully baked! I know I keep saying this but I genuinely can’t believe how fast the weeks are going. Although it’s unlikely for now, she could literally be with us any day!

This week we are as big as a pineapple or a honeydew melon, at around 5.3lbs and 46.2cm long. Baby G won’t get much longer from this point, she’ll just fatten up a little bit and potentially put on a further 2.5lbs over the next 5 weeks!

Well the nursery is fully complete now and we are pretty much prepared with everything else. I still need to put some sheets into our Next2Me crib and the downstairs travel crib then we’ll be ready to attach the Next2Me bedside crib when she’s here.

I’m also starting to do a bit of batch cooking and will be using up the remaining weekends and then my maternity leave trying to fill the freezer. Only 3 weeks left at work until maternity leave!

My midwife appointment this week was fine as usual, no change in blood pressure and Baby G is still very comfy in a head down position. I really am starting to appreciate how lucky I am to have such a straight forward pregnancy, hopefully we can get through the next 5 weeks or so in the same way!

I’ve printed out my birth plan and have filed it in the front of my notes to go over with my midwife at my 36 week appointment next week. On Thursday this week we also have our “physiotherapy for labour” workshop at the hospital which includes a tour of the labour unit so I’ll pop a quick blog up about that afterwards.

The little comparison above shows the bump during month 8 at 31, 33 and 35 weeks! I can’t believe that next week we’ll be starting our final month of pregnancy!

This Saturday is also my baby shower and I’m super excited! Can’t wait to see what my mum and sister have planned.

Weight wise, I gained 1.1lbs this week so the total is now at 31.3lbs gained. 3.7lbs left to the “target gain” of 35lbs with 5 weeks to go. I won’t be disappointed if I go slightly over that as I know it’ll come straight off and I’m likely to be holding some extra water weight as the weather has been so warm lately!
